The Alzheimer's Care Wing at Park Place

Was designed to protect the health and well being of both residents and their caretakers. It is a place where security, complete healthcare, emotional support and peace of mind are the most important objectives.

The Alzheimer's Care wing at Park Place is brand new

It is a secure, specially designed and constructed 33-resident healthcare wing built with one purpose in mind, the creation of a totally safe environment for those residents suffering from the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. It is the newest Alzheimer’s care center in the state. It is truly a wonderful place for residents who require extra assistance, specialized care or just a safe place to be because Alzheimer’s disease is robbing them of their ability to care for themselves or make safe choices.

The Alzheimer's Care Wing at Park Place is a seperate nursing unit.

The unit is joined to a large, fully enclosed and beautifully landscaped courtyard with paved walkways for the exclusive use of its residents and their caretakers. The courtyard, like the rest of the unit
is specially designed for the safety, enjoyment and freedom of those suffering with
Alzheimer’s disease who require continuous supervision. It allows residents access to the
outdoors whenever they wish (weather permitting).

The Alzheimer's Care Wing at Park Place provides a safe haven

It is a fully protected, minimum medication, restraint and wander-free environment. Our care philosophy is that medications and healthcare equipment are not restraints and should not be used for such
purposes. The wing therefore is completely secured and supervised 24 hours per day by
professional, multidisciplinary healthcare staff who are specifically trained in the care and
understanding of the needs and moods of Alzheimer’s residents. The wing is also fully
equipped with electronic monitors and state-of-the-art locking systems to ensure that no
resident will ever face the danger from wandering unsupervised.

Caring for a loved one suffering with Alzheimer’s disease can be a daunting task, especially if you have to
work, have other obligations or must leave your home for more than a short while. The risk is great and the
heartache is unbearable, often sapping you, the caretaker, of your physical and emotional strength. The decision to seek more skilled care for your loved one is difficult and one that only you as a concerned caretaker can make.
